Right now, Denis O’Brien owns Quinta do Lago, after purchasing the resort in 1998. But before this, the vision of the Quinta do Lago resort came from André Jordan, who began the initial stages of development in 1972. Then became the addition that propelled Quinta do Lago into a desirable golf resort — William F Mitchell’s initial 27-hole layout, which now makes up the South Course and nine holes of the North Course.

Quinta do Lago would go on to host the Portuguese Open eight times between 1976 and 2001, cementing its place as a leading luxury golf resort. Now, Quinta do Lago is perfect for anybody looking for an Algarve getaway, whether solo, with a partner, or family.
