Whilst it is still quite warm during the day, at night time the temperature can dip to as low as 4º, so be sure to pack something warm that you can throw on if you are heading out in the evening. Generally, the Algarve winter is very spring-like, but it can rain from time to time. It’s very beautiful, as the almond trees begin to blossom and wildflowers start to appear.

Usual temperatures in the Algarve during the spring months (March and April) are around 20º-30º and is really more like the summer. Spring is one of the quieter times to visit the Algarve, so if you some sunshine and enjoy quieter locations, then the spring is the perfect time to visit. The countryside is usually in full bloom, particularly along the cliff tops, and this makes for some truly stunning scenes.

The Algarve In The Summer

If you want to visit the Algarve in the hottest months, then the best time to visit is between June and September. The chance of it raining is practically 0, so you’re sure to have a great time away. It can frequently reach above 30º on the hottest days, especially in July and August, so be sure to pack plenty of suncream to protect your skin. Thanks to the location of the Algarve, there is a light sea breeze from the ocean which can cool it down a little!
